However, it was\nnot only used as a bath house but rather a center for full body and mind\nrejuvenation. The Ancient Romans believed personal hygiene and most importantly\nin \u2018\u2019corpus sano mens sana\u2019\u2019 which translates to \u2018a healthy mind in a healthy body\u2019\nand these baths would allow for both. There were different pools with warm and\ncold water, scented spas, gymnasiums, libraries and gardens for leisurely\nwalks. Lectures were also held in the gardens by wisemen and storytellers to\neducate the people. The Baths of Caracalla\nwere far from bland and boring, they were lavishly covered\nin decoration, magnificently\nadorned with frescos, beautiful sculptures and\nmosaics.
