As you go rafting down the river you will get a different\nglimpse of the mysterious eternal city and this would definitely be an\nexperience you would never forget. These tours are best done in the heat of the\nsummer as it is a nice way to keep cool. Unless you are very unlucky, the\nlikelihood of you entering the water is slim so there will be no need to return\nto your accomodation to get changed which makes it a fun and quick activity to\nthrow into your day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hike on the outskirts of\nRome<\/span><\/p><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you love to explore hiking trails and get yourself lost in\nthe rugged beauty of nature while discovering some hidden gems then, you will\nbe surprised to know that the area surrounding Rome has some great trails. A\ncouple of the best trails are around Lago di Nemi (Nemi Lake). Although only\nabout 40min from Rome on the train, its lush wild strawberries with the serene\nblue lake will calm you down as you take a glimpse into the ‘ Holy Path’ or,\n\u201cVia Sacra\u201d. You could also choose to go down a different path and explore\nTurano Valley which has an artificial lake surrounded with lush rolling hills.\nAlthough it is only around 1 hour away from Rome by car, it is not easily\naccessible with public transport so ideally you would need to hire a car. Last\nbut not least, just outside of the city center and easily accessible by metro,\nbus or taxi is the \u2018Bosco Sacro\u2019 which is just off of the famous Appian Way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scooter sharing<\/span><\/p><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although not so much of an activity, as opposed to a means of\ntransport. Rome is now full of different companies which offer scooter sharing.\nSimply download the app of your chosen scooter sharing company and hop on and\noff when you please. Although helmets are not usually provided with the scooter\nit would be a good idea to wear one so consider bringing a bicycle style helmet\nwith you from home if you like this idea. \nThe bonus of scooter sharing is that you can drop it off wherever you\nwant, granted it is within the limits of the city rental agreement. Another big\nbonus is the price, scooter sharing is very competitively priced running around\n15cents a minute plus a 1euro unlock charge. The downside of scooter sharing is\nthe limited distance you are allowed to travel, as they are generally\nrestricted to the historical city center. And, they are limited so you may have\nto walk some distance to find an available scooter. Some of the big companies\nat the moment for scooter sharing are \u2018Helbiz\u2019, \u2018Lime\u2019 and \u2018Bird\u2019.
